Munchy EA — Setup Guide

Everything you need to prepare MetaTrader 5, get started with Munchy and use its dashboard and controls

Requirements

  • Platform: MetaTrader 5 desktop with Algo Trading enabled
  • Account: MT5 hedging account; netting accounts are not supported. Minimum broker trade size: 0.01 lot
  • Instrument: AUDCAD, including supported broker symbol suffixes
  • Chart: attach Munchy to an AUDCAD chart; any visible chart timeframe
  • Connectivity: keep MetaTrader running while the EA manages trades. A reliable VPS is recommended
  • Capital: historical reference tests used a 10,000 USD starting balance and 1:500 leverage. These are test conditions, not guaranteed safe minimums or a required account recommendation

Getting started

  1. After launch, obtain the official Munchy EA through the MQL5 Market
  2. Open MetaTrader 5 with your hedging account and an AUDCAD chart
  3. Install and attach the EA, then enable Algo Trading for the terminal and the Expert Advisor
  4. Review the available configuration and status panel. Confirm broker trading permissions
  5. Start with MT5 Strategy Tester or a demo account before using live capital

Using Munchy

Munchy automates a mean reversion trading approach focused on AUDCAD. Once active, it manages trading operations within MetaTrader 5. You can follow account conditions and EA status on the chart and in the terminal

Trading is not continuous: the EA acts according to its conditions, so periods without new trades are normal

Dashboard, status and alerts

The Munchy panel displays status and key account information such as balance, equity, drawdown and open lots. Visual status messages and optional notifications can help you spot operational problems

  • No trades: check Algo Trading permissions, the selected account type, AUDCAD symbol and Experts/Journal messages
  • Rejected order: check market hours, broker permissions, margin, symbol specifications and terminal logs
  • After reconnecting: review open positions and terminal status before leaving the system running

Settings and testing

Supported settings cover risk and trade management, on chart information and notifications. Keep the reference settings unless you have evaluated any changes using a demo account or the MT5 Strategy Tester

When testing, check both returns and drawdown, along with execution costs, margin and your broker's contract settings. Historical simulations are not evidence of identical future results

Continuous operation and restarts

A stable, always-on MetaTrader terminal is important. A VPS is recommended to reduce interruptions. Munchy can resume management of existing positions after a terminal or VPS restart

Launch, support and further reading

Munchy is preparing for its MQL5 Market release. Request a launch update, explore the FAQ or contact ALGOTS Support for setup questions

Automated trading involves exposure to market movements and potential losses; built-in controls do not eliminate those risks. For more information, see the Risk Disclosure
