Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions that come up most often about Munchy, the ALGOTS Obfuscator and support
Munchy EA
What is Munchy EA?
Munchy is a fully automated mean reversion Expert Advisor developed for AUDCAD on MetaTrader 5. It includes integrated risk controls, an on chart status panel and optional notifications
What makes Munchy different?
Munchy is designed specifically for AUDCAD rather than being presented as a universal multi-pair robot. It combines automated trade management with practical monitoring and direct ALGOTS support
Which platform does Munchy support?
Munchy runs on MetaTrader 5 desktop. It is not an MT4 product
Which instrument and timeframe should I use?
The supported instrument is AUDCAD. You may attach Munchy to an AUDCAD chart with any visible timeframe
What type of trading account do I need?
An MT5 hedging account is required, with a broker allowing orders as small as 0.01 lot. Netting accounts are not supported
Will Munchy trade automatically?
Yes. Munchy automates trading and position management in MetaTrader 5 when trading is enabled and its conditions are met. You should still monitor the account and platform
Does Munchy have a dashboard?
Yes. The on chart panel displays account and EA status, while warnings and configurable notifications help you follow operational conditions
Can I use any broker?
Choose an MT5 broker offering AUDCAD and hedging accounts. Check symbol specifications, execution costs, permissions and margin conditions before trading
How much capital do I need?
Historical reference tests used a starting balance of 10,000 USD with 1:500 leverage. These figures describe the testing conditions, not a guaranteed safe minimum. Required capital depends on broker conditions and your tolerance for losses
Should I run Munchy on a VPS?
A stable VPS is recommended so the MT5 terminal can remain connected. Munchy needs a running terminal for ongoing automated management
What happens if the terminal restarts?
After restarting MetaTrader 5 or your VPS, confirm the EA is running and review any open positions and terminal status messages before leaving it unattended
Can I test Munchy before using real money?
Yes. You can use the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester or a demo account to evaluate the EA and its settings, including possible drawdown and broker costs
Does Munchy use multiple positions?
Munchy can hold and manage more than one position. Exposure and margin usage can increase when the market moves against open positions. Review your available capital and monitoring arrangements accordingly
Do the built-in controls eliminate trading risk?
No. Risk controls assist with managing selected conditions but do not guarantee profits or limit every possible loss. See the Risk Disclosure for full details
Is Munchy available to buy?
Not yet. Munchy is preparing for release through the official MQL5 Market. You can request a launch notice by email from the Get Started page
Where can I get help?
Read the Munchy setup guide or contact ALGOTS Support by email or Telegram for installation and operational questions
ALGOTS Obfuscator
What is ALGOTS Obfuscator?
ALGOTS Obfuscator is a Windows application for protecting readable MQL5 source code in .mq5 and .mqh projects. It includes a desktop interface and a command-line tool for automated workflows
What does ALGOTS Obfuscator protect?
It transforms project symbols, removes readable comments and formatting, and can protect strings, integer constants and control flow using Harden or Custom mode. Its MQL5 aware engine preserves required event handlers and symbols that must remain unchanged
Does it support Expert Advisors, indicators and scripts?
Yes. ALGOTS Obfuscator supports MQL5 Expert Advisors, indicators and scripts. Select the program’s main .mq5 file to process the project
Does it work across multi-file projects?
Yes. ALGOTS Obfuscator analyses the main .mq5 file and its .mqh includes together, allowing consistent symbol transformations across the project
What MQL5 constructs are supported?
Functions, parameters, variables, classes, structs, unions, enums, members, includes and resources are supported. When a construct cannot be transformed confidently, the engine preserves it rather than guessing
Can the protected code still compile normally?
The output is standard MQL5 source code. An optional MetaEditor compile check verifies that the protected project compiles successfully. As with any new build, test its behaviour in MetaTrader 5 before delivery
Will my input parameters and .set files still work?
Yes. Safe and Harden preserve input names, keeping EA settings and existing .set files compatible. Custom mode can rename inputs if you deliberately enable that option
What is the difference between Safe, Harden and Custom?
Safe performs conservative symbol renaming while retaining comments and formatting. Harden adds include flattening, minification, comment removal, string and constant protection, and control-flow hardening. Custom lets you select the individual protections
Is my source code uploaded anywhere?
No. Your source code, project files and protected builds are processed locally on your PC. Licence activation and periodic checks send licence and device-identification information over HTTPS to the Lemon Squeezy licensing service; your source code is not transmitted
Does it modify my original files?
No. ALGOTS Obfuscator reads your project and writes the protected copy to a separate output folder. Your original source files are not modified
Are strings obfuscated?
Yes. String-literal protection is included in the Harden preset and is selectable in Custom mode
Do my customers need ALGOTS Obfuscator to use the protected code?
No. The protected output is standard MQL5 source code. Your customers do not need ALGOTS Obfuscator or its licence to compile and use that output
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), with no separate Python runtime or administrator rights required. MetaTrader 5 and 64-bit MetaEditor are optional for the automatic compile check. Internet access is needed for licence activation and periodic checks
Is ALGOTS Obfuscator available now?
ALGOTS Obfuscator is currently available on request. Contact ALGOTS for access and licensing information
